It's finaly SNOWING!!!

Hot Damn!! After a long period of warm weahter and F@#*ing rain! It's finally snowing! Hope where going to ride this week -end.

There's one thing I hate the most is when I can't snowboard, skate or surf. Right now I'm in this position. Don't feel like going snowboarding on ice or riding the Bowl at Taz http://www.taz.ca/. So we decided to plan our surf trip for spring.

Myself at El Zonte, El Salvador

We are thinking of going back to Central America. Costa Rica or Nicaragua? So far it's been our best option for fun surf and cheap stay. After going to Costa Rica for a few years it's almost my second home. The Pura Vida spirit and the people are great! I was luck enough to have my good friends Seb and Mat Brazeau from high school that moved down in 1996 and ever since my first visit I fell in love with the place and surfing. Guy's like Javier, Rolando, Isidro and Esteban and Hanival showed me how Tico's are very generous peoples.

Splitboarding!

Ever since I came back from Switzerland I got hooked with freeriding. My good friend Nick Nadeau and Swiss local Dom Beaudin (R.I.P my brother) have showed me the true lifestyle of big mountain freeriding. After all these years of pipe's and jumps and breaking my neck I realized how much I love playing with the terrain and when my surfing crossed the path of my snowboarding, I realized that what I really liked was to surf my snowboard more than anything else in the sport. I would like to dedicate my snowboard season to the loving memory of Dom Baudin and my sweet Grand-ma Aline Leger couture that passed away recently. You will be miss and remembered for ever.

In loving memorie of Dom Baudin 1976-2009

It's really hard for an East coster from Quebec to like freeride. The mountains are not like out west or in the Alps so it requires a little bit more of exploration. So me and Emilie got into splitboarding. Emilie was probably tired of earring about how much I wanted to make my splitboard, so my sweet heart got me my first DIY Voile split kit. So I did the same and building her a splitboard so that we could share this experience together.

From touring to riding in
about 2 minutes. The hike is so much faster and easier. Thanks to http://www.voile-usa.com/ for the greatest this awsome kit. Our winter's will never be the same...

Boards are ready, we decide to head out and try theses baby out. So we headed to an closedown ski resort in the Larentiens to get a good feel of our boards. First timer Emilie got the hang of it really fast and was stoked on here new splitboard.

You don't just hike and ride down, you can also find some cool discovery in these closed down ski resorts. Here we found and old shed where they used to the snow making equipment.

A quick stop to eat and rest

And back on my own 2 feet...

We did about 4 hours of touring/riding at Gray Rock (if you ever drive by you can see that someone took the "R" down from Gray, you figure what's rest...) Unfortunately I don't have any picture of use riding... We where to busy riddin' !

Winter is here!

Winter is here and we are already in the 3rd week of 2010! Crazy! The snowboard season is now in full swing and I can't wait to go back out on my splitboard to find some untouched terrain to play with.

Here's a picture of myself at the 2009 Atlas Banked Slalom at Val St-Come last year. I won the vintage class so this is my dedication to Craig Kelly, Damian Sanders, Steve Graham and all the others riders from the late 80's to early 90's. I won the contest with my old Kemper Freestyle 165cm.

Come and see what I see...

This is a blog of what I do in life, what I see and what I love. Hope this will help you going trough your day by day activities and change your daily habits to a better living.

Go outside and play!
